Yoroi (1) - Animal hair, Gilt, Gilt Leather, Lacquer, Leather, Paper - Unbekannt - Japan - Azuchi-Momoyama period (1573-1603)

Yoroi armour by Matsuura Shigenobu 1549-1614 or his son Hisanobu 1571-1602 Tozama Daimyo of Hirado. Naval Commander in the war under Konishi Yukinaga Invasions Commander. The sun is not original, this went missing. He probably wore the oak leaves from Hirado. The sod is set with with human hair and the others are horsehair. The horsehair has been restored. The armour was newly bound in blue around the 1800s. Originally it was bound with turquoise green, part of the first setting is still there, I had to renew the violet straps on top, the blue ones were worn. The Mon can only be seen on the sods. The fabric is original from that time. The Do is a Nanban Do, riveted iron, bulletproof, the helmet is made of iron and so is the mask. The kusazuri are made of rawhide, as are the kote suneate and sod. The box, belt and small stands are included. Thus it can be immediately put back together, thank you. . . . . . . . . . . . . . .
