At the beginning of the book, is a list of the benefits of reciting Tehillim that the Chida culled from various sources, adding his own to the list.

Prayers to be intoned before and after reciting Tehillim that appear in this book originate in the book, Kitzur Shelah, and were edited by The Chidah.
