Yves Brayer, born November 18, 1907 in Versailles and died May 29, 1990 in Paris, was a French painter renowned for his figurative style. He is particularly known for his landscapes, his bullfighting scenes and his representations of Provence and Spain. A member of the Academy of Fine Arts, Brayer left a lasting mark on 20th century art through his unique approach to color and light.
