S.3" (grading as "Deckwatch") and Broad Arrow symbol, diameter c. 52 mm movement: manual winding, gilt lever movement, numbered 3286618, marked with Broad Arrow symbol, calibre 19-34-3-T, compensation balance, precision adjust, Breguet overcoil spring dial: white, enamel, Arabic numerals, marked with Broad Arrow symbol and numbered 6618 (the last 4 digits of the movement number), central second accessories: wooden box with inspection glass -- From 1940 onwards, the Royal Navy began to grade the watches used according to the standards of the Hydrographic Service in the so-called "H. S. System" by function. For example, "H. S.3" stood for "Watch, Deck", i.e. an observation watch.
