The morning of back to school
Felt pen on paper for this page reproduced in this album published in 2023 by Glénat editions. "This is one of my favorite themes: how to transform the banality of everyday life into an adventure. Titeuf is an expert in this field... and adults bring him back to boring reality" (Zep).
42 x 29.7 cm
Back to school? It's one of the worst days of the year! It starts early, far too early, with the unbearable ringing of that cursed alarm clock that you want to throw across the room, reminding you that vacation is unfortunately over and you'll have to make a superhuman effort to drag yourself out of bed. Plus, the bedroom is a real mess; all sorts of things are lying on the floor – toys, comics, clothes, sneakers... Once out of the fog, it's time for breakfast; and there, the atmosphere is still as dismal, everyone is more or less asleep. Just to open a jar of jam, or put butter on a slice of toast, requires crazy energy. And we're only at the beginning: you still have to run to the bathroom, prepare your schoolbag, rush down the stairs at full speed because you're late, take public transport crammed in like sardines, and drop off your little sister at the daycare before going back to school. And, once there, a dictation, just the way he likes them, not at all depressing, awaits Titeuf.
