Six Arita porcelain "Frederick of Frytom"-style cups, Japan, ca. 1700
With an underglaze blue decor of landscapes with figures, houses and ships, presumably Deshima. The edges blue decorated and marked apocryphally at the bottom: Xuande. The interior and exterior landscapes were painted by an unknown group of artists from Japan, who were inspired by artist Frederik van Frytom (1632-1702). Van Frytom painted pottery in Delft.
