Size: 24,2 x 18,7 cm | 9 1/2 x 7 1/3 in

Condition: Paper slightly browned, slight horizontal central fold, two small spots at the height of the rider's knee, lower left and lower left margin trimmed minimally within the platemark. Otherwise with narrow margin around the platemark. At the back side remains of old mountings.

Description: Very high quality copy after Dürer's master engraving, probably from the 18th or early 19th century. With Dürer's monogram but without date. Listed by Heller as No. 1014. The horseman is one of the three master engravings by Dürer from 1513/1514 and has already been the subject of countless interpretations. The copy of this famous engraving is of deceptive accuracy, which is only slightly less in the facial features of the figures depicted. In contrast to the original, the year "1513" and the letter "S" are missing in the lower left-hand corner of the plate.
