Stunning pair of plaster sculptures on a wooden panel, early 1900s (or earlier) The Christ figure is after the painting “Testa di Cristo coronato di spine” by Guido Reni (1575-1642) , preserved at the Detroit Institute of Arts. The Virgin Mary is after the painting of Our Lady of Sorrow, by Guido Reni as well, kept at the Galleria Nazionale d’Arte Antica of Palazzo Corsini, Rome. Both unrestored, with small marks and discoloration of the original patina (also visible in photographs) . The objects will be packed with care.
