c1850 Burma King Pagin Min Silver Thabeik Bowl

A stunningly beautiful Silver repoussé bowl with incredibly detailed decoration showing Royal pastimes and actions.
The item dated from around 1850 and is a Thabeik Bowl. It has a dancing peacock (Ka-Doung) on the base, this is the official bird of Royalty and appears on the heist coins as well as Palace pieces. It is likely to have come from a Palace of the Burmese King Pagin Min, brought back as booty by British Soldiers during the 2nd Anglo-Burmese Wars. Similar items of that period are in museums, including the Durham Light Infantry Museum.
