c1920 Huntley & Palmers Trompe loeil Book Form Biscuit Tin
A vintage George V novelty "trompe-l’œil" lithographed tinplate biscuit container by Huntley & Palmers, England, circa 1920–1930, cleverly designed in the form of a heavily gilt-tooled red morocco leather book. Presented in fair to good antique condition, the exterior retains strong coloration and a warm luster with minor surface scratches and corner wear typical of its age, while the interior features a naturally tarnished, unpolished grey tin lining that remains free of active, flaking rust. Measures appox 1.5 inches high, 9.75 x 7 inches.
