A very attractive oil on board painting of Hollywood legend, the actress Maureen O’Hara.
The painting is the work of R.M. Nunan, who was an advertising artist and did poster work for several companies in the period from the 1920s to the 1960s. He specialised in portraying glamorous, smiling women, enjoying products as diverse as Schweppes, Abdulla cigarettes, Ridgeways 5 O’clock tea and Carmichaels Apple Juice. This painting, along with two others we are listing, was painted for his own amusement.
The painting is in very good condition and is tastefully mounted, glazed and framed. It is not signed but was bought at auction with a selection of his advertising portfolio.
