ca. 1930 Blackfeet Beaded Buffalo Hide Doll

The lot features a circa 1930-1940's Indian tanned buffalo hide beaded child's doll in a large size. The piece is comprised of Indian tanned buffalo / bison hide showing a woman doll wearing a fringed and beaded dress, beaded leggings, beaded moccasins, with beadwork extending to the back and real human hair. The piece shows whispy Indian hide fringes and a trade muslin body. The piece shows sinew and trade thread and a nice cobalt to greasy light blue old glass trade beads with accented in cobalt, sky light blue, greasy dark red, and chalk white. Overall a very nice early doll. Measures 13-inches tall by 8-inches wide.
