c.mid 1970's Micron Special 250/350cc race bike. Registration number not road registered. Frame number not found. Engine number not found
Sold with a history folder, various spares including a 250cc cylinder, front forks electronic ignition set up.
Built by Paul Slater, owner/founder of Micron exhausts from Reynolds 531 tubing, the frame weighs just 4kgs in the mid 1970's, and ran a Fahron prepared Yamaha YDS7 engine.
He sold it to Paul Nichols in 1977 who at the time held the 250cc lap record at Cadwell. It passed to Philip Gill the next year. Our vendor bought it in the May of 1980. He overhauled the bike and started his first race at the Carnaby Racetrack on the 20th September 1981. Over the years it has been raced at many hill-climbs and Oliver's Mount, with different engines.
It was last raced several years ago and when the cataloguer collected the bike it had not been fired up in two years, it started on the second kick! Owned for some 46 years our vendor now accepts his race days are over.
Included with the bike are articles written in the January 1998 Yamaha TZ Owners Club magazine and the VJMC August 2020 magazine.
