each2 silver coins from 2002 iss

[ translate ]

each2 silver coins from 2002 issued by Deutsche Post, “Introduction of the Euro as Cash,” confirmed as misstrikes. Fine silver .999. The coins feature the special postal postmarks. Both are securely packaged in blister cardboard packaging with sliding tabs. One of them bears the postmark “Farewell to the DM as a Means of Payment” with an incorrect reverse side. The obverse and reverse sides were actually supposed to have the same lettering. Here, however, the reverse side reads “Farewell to Pure Pfennig Stamps.” Included is correspondence between the previous owner and Deutsche Post from March 2003, which confirms an “error by the mint” and describes the specimen as the only known “single copy” to date. Sliding case approx. 15 x 15 cm
