This monumental set made of marble, gold-plated and patinated bronze is a beautiful piece of Barbedienne's craftsmanship from the Parision Belle Epoque. The round dial is made of marble, has a gold-plated bronze edge and is signed "F. Barbedienne / Paris". The sculpture on top is by Paul Dubois (1827-1905) and is called "Le Courage Militaire", a gold-plated and patinated bronze sculpture of a Roman warrior. The clock is signed with P. Dubois and F. Barbedienne Fondeur and with the Achille Collas pastille.
