important Islamic gilt silver jambiya dagger - Middle East - 19th century

The hilt of the dagger is finely adorned with extremely fine zigzag and medallion filigree work. elegant Knobs on both sides ensure the dagger will not slip from the hands of its owner. Blade forged from steel. The sheath of the Islamic Jambiya is formed from very fine filigree work and a rare fish-scale motif. Silver rings for attaching to belt. On the back of the sheath is a leather element that is partially detached from the sheath. fine floral engraving to the tip of the sheath.

overall very good condition with small imperfections

length of the dagger in the sheath: 34 cm

length of blade: 19 cm
