Since 1937, the Hermès silk carrés have become iconic accessories. Hermès scarves and shawls have been collected by many celebrities and royalty, from Audrey Hepburn to Grace Kelly to Elizabeth II.

Each year Hermès invites a talented artist to create a carré. The carré include up to 30 different shades. The shades are applied one by one, letting each individual colour dry before applying the next. This unique method of silk screening can take up to a hundred hours. Such carvings are timeless and become collectable works of art.

Hermès Animapolis 90 is a traditional pure silk carré with hand-trimmed edges.

The luxurious composition Animapolis belongs to artist Jan Bajtlik, a graduate of the Warsaw Academy of Fine Arts. Zebras, dinosaurs, monkeys, and toucans inhabit this phantasmagorical city. Each animal has its own story. A dragon sneaks up on Warsaw's Palace of Culture and Science, a leopard hides behind the Moscow Kremlin, while a panda and a crocodile rest near St. Basil's Cathedral (Moscow). To get a better view of the whole spectacle, people gathered at the windows of the first historic Hermès boutique on rue Cobourg Saint-Honoré in Paris.

Yann Baitlik is an artist, illustrator, and graphic designer. He graduated from the Faculty of Graphic Arts at the Academy of Fine Arts in Warsaw (2013).

Since 2016, he has collaborated with Hermès Paris, coming up with designs for silk carrés, fashion accessories, enamel jewellery, accessories of the Hermès house: ceramics, beachwear etc. He also co-designed the scenography for the opening of the Hermès boutique in Dubai Mall and created the graphic identity of Hermès Fantasy in Dubai. Jan also created the scenography of the winds for the opening of the first Hermès boutique in Warsaw, Poland.
