liqueur cellar - Empire - Brass, Glass, Mahogany - 1810-1820

[ translate ]

A 19th century liqueur chest made during the Dutch Empire - period around 1810-1820. The liqueur chest is made of oak wood and glued with (flower) mahogany veneer. The top and front are glued with one finely delineated piece of crotch mahogany veneer. The quarter round lid has a raised edge and has a quarter round brass frame work. On the inside are the six original hand-blown decanters, which are decorated with refined gold painting. Through use, this is more visible with one than with the other pones. The stoppers of the rear decanters have a faceted edge and of the front three the edges are smooth. The decanter, middle back, has a chip on the edge. The inside is lined with (presumably) the original blue velours and the edges are lined with golden yellow watered maple veneer. On either side of the liqueur chest there are refined brass handles, on which the rosettes are decorated with palmette leaves. The lock with working key once replaced the original. The original and refined copper key entrance is decorated with various leaves patterns and grape vines. The liqueur chest has decorated paper glued to the bottom, original, and rests on refined twisted brass feet. A beautiful, stately and chic liqueur cellar with a deep warm colour and beautiful shine! The item will be shipped well packed and insured!
