An exquisite pair of "pietra dura" panels depicting green branches with peachy pink flowers with pistils in lapis lazuli, all finely inlaid in a variety of precious hardstones in a black slate plaque. The panels are beautifully presented in partially gilt & black stained moulded wooden frames with copper wire inlay by Saxon & Clemens in New York, their company label on the back. These panels are the best and finest that I have seen in their genre ! Florence. Late 19th century. The frames date to the early 20th century. Dimensions: (of the frames) 19,5cm x 14,7cm.
