Antique Shirvan Kuba Star Caucasian rug, circa 1890-1900. Origin: the village of Shirvan, located near the South-Western shore of the Caspian Sea and the district of the same name in the Southern part of Azerbaijan. Production method: woollen warp and weft for the ancient rugs, wool or cotton for those produced between 1850 and 1930, and 100% cotton for the modern production. The pile is always in close-cut wool. Modern production generally features a higher number of knots compared to the older and ancient rugs. This has been kept well and is in perfect condition. Extra fine and very soft. Origin: Caucasian. Dimensions: 124 x 105. Material: wool, cotton, hand-knotted. Natural colours.
