Very Rare Pair of Queen Anne Carved and Figured Walnut Compass-Seat Side Chairs

Chairs marked II and VI with their respective seat frames marked III and V. Patches to seat rail veneer and splat; two leg returns replaced.
Height 40 5/8 inches

Condition Report:
Chair seat frame marked VI with period slip seat frame marked V. Three minor patches to veneer on proper right seat rail and a 4 1/2 inch patch to veneer on skirt at junction of proper right leg. Proper left side knee return replaced along with 8 inch section of veneer replaced on proper left seat rail. Both ears on splat patched and portion of front splat replaced. Chair marked II with period slip seat frame marked III. Proper right front knee return replaced. A 5 1/2 inch patch to the veneer on the skirt on proper right side rail along with a 9 1/2 inch patch to the veneer on the proper left side rail. An 11 by 2 1/2 inch replacement of proper left side of splat. Chair VI with Proper left side knee return replaced and chair II with proper right front knee return replaced.
