Old Master School, "Portrait of a Renaissance Man," late 19th c., oil on canvas laid to board, unsigned, presented in a gilt frame, H.- 8 1/2 in., W.- 6 in., Framed H.- 12 1/2 in., W.- 10 in., D.- 1 1/2 in.
Condition Report: There is one area of surface loss visible on the left side of the figure’s face on cheek. Two minor spots of in-painting visible under black light on the proper left side of the canvas, near the frame border. The very top right corner has a slightly bumpier surface, and looks like it may have been a repair to the canvas before laying it to the board. Additionally, under black light, there is a faint hairline surface scratch from the top to about just below the sitter’s ear on the proper left side of painting. We do not have any other provenance information. Frame has some sticker residue on the bottom left corner and a minor surface scratch on bottom right area.
