Carl Meinelt Mother and Child Porcelain Plaque
MEINELT, Carl, (German, 1825-1900): Hand painted KPM style porcelain plaque after Raphael's "Tempe Madonna", portrait of the Mother and Child, signed lower right, incised and hand written marks verso, 21.25" x 17.5", gilt frame 31" x 27". Meinelt normally worked in watercolors and almost always the support was on either porcelain or copper as his original schooling was as a painter of ceramics. Overall condition excellent.
