The miniature study in brown patinated bronze is after a large installation on the campus of Smith College in Northampton, Massachusetts where the American sculptor, painter and printmaker Elliot Offner was professor of art. The base bears the cast inscription 'Smith College' on one side, the inscription of 'edition of 150' in the casting back side along with 'JM' in an oval, and the copyright signature '© offner' top of the base.
Measures 7 x 5.75 x 4 inches.
Provenance: The estate of Morton and Estelle Sosland.
In Kansas City, the Sosland family name is synonymous with both giving, and the arts.
