Chinese Famille Rose Porcelain Buddha, Republic
A Chinese famille rose porcelain statue of a Buddhist figure dating from the Republic period. The figure wears a colorful robe fastened with a gold-colored loop. They sit in vajrasana upon an open lotus on a wave form pedestal. A tall, paneled crown adorns their head around their tall hairdo. Their hands rest in their lap supporting a gold-colored sphere, possibly a jewel. It is possible that the figure is Guanyin in an unusual depiction holding the Pearl of Light.
Dimensions are: 10 inches tall X 5 inches wide, 25.4 cm X 12.7 cm. All measurements are approximate.
Condition: There are some small areas of glaze chipping or loss, but it is in overall good condition. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is.
