We are grateful to Simone Facchinetti for suggesting the attribution of the present painting. He dates the present work to circa 1520–1535.
The present composition, which appears to have formed part of the decoration of a chapel or wall of a religious building, is the work of the brothers Bernardino and Antonio Marinoni. The two artists worked in the area of Bergamo, taking over the workshop of their father, who died before 1508.
