Scarce Bishop Line-Winding Attachment
Issued patent number 718416 on Jan. 13th, 1903, Abner Bishop made this band driven level-wind device to attach to non-level-winding reels to lay line evenly on the spool. Attaching via two nuts and bolts, the 2 1/2" wide device is currently attached to a nickel-plated brass Pennell "The Tournament" reel in 80 yard size, with jeweled end caps and working click/drag switches. The Bishop attachment functions perfectly, and with little wear, is in Ex- condition.
