Ancient Roman Glazed Terracotta or Faience "Pilgrim's" Flask.- probably Romano-Egyptian

Ca. 100-400 AD, An interesting Ancient Roman bifacial Glazed Terracotta or faience so called "Pilgrim's Flask" of flat form with two loop handles flanking the funnel-shaped neck and mouth. Each side decorated with youth face framed by laurel wreath. A very nice, mold-made pottery vessel enveloped in a lustrous glaze of a turquoise colour, circular lentoid body, a thin tubular neck, and a flared rim connected to the body via two looped handles. Both flat sides are adorned with protruding tondos featuring a victory wreath, surrounding the head of youth. The two heads seem to be that of a young woman and on the other side that of a male youth. Size: L: 120mm / W: 90mm ; 205g Good condition. Provenance: Private K.
