An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver table
An early 20th century Iranian (Persian) silver table box, Isfahan circa 1930-40 Pahlavi dynasty, of circular form with a domed pull off lid. The lid with chased monabbat-kari decoration in an octofoil cartouche of antelope, foxes, and goats against a tree, edged with a band of foliage. The sides of the base with engraved ghalam zani decoration of arabesques against a textured ground heightened with ring punching. The underside centred with five-sided petal rosette edged with a band of flower heads. Gilt interior. Marked underneath with standard mark (??) only. Diameter – 10.3 cm / 4.05 inches Weight – 277 grams / 8.91 ozt
