[ translate ]

A mounted Chinese famille rose porcelain plaque shaped like a crest dating from the Republic period. The crest is mounted in a wooden frame with a metal stand. The crest itself features a central scene with Shou and other mythical figures. The scene is set against a yellow ground with lotus tracery framed by a band of red and gold geometric patterns.

Dimensions are: the porcelain measures 11 inches tall X 8 3/4 inches wide, 27.9 cm X 22.2 cm, while the frame measures 14 3/4 inches tall X 10 1/2 inches wide, 37.5 cm X 26.7 cm. All measurements are approximate.

Condition: The porcelain has chipping and a few cracks to some of the screw holes and edges. The wooden frame has areas of chipping and loss. A reminder that all lots are sold as-is. We have sought to record the changes in the condition of this piece after its initial manufacture as diligently as possible; however, as stated in our terms, condition reports are statements of opinion and not representations or warranties. Oakridge Auction Gallery bears no responsibility for any error or omission.

Provenance: From the private, premier collection of a gentleman in Cleveland, Ohio. The items in the collection were acquired starting in the 1970s from auction houses including Christie's, Sotheby's, and Bonhams, as well as from various private collections in the United States.
