German Carved Oak Wall Clock
A late 19th century German carved Oak wall clock with applied chased Bronze decoration, in the manner of Lenzkirch. 8-day spring driven time and strike movement with a Silvered dial and Roman numerals, etched dial center with foliate design in Gold and Silver detail with matching compensating pendulum. Oak case with lift-off facade having an arched crest with two carved finials supported by turned columns, turned Oak bezel flanked by foliate carvings and Brass finials over a beveled glass panel and pierced carved drop with applied Bronze Angel and foliate wreaths, terminating in a carved Shell form drop finial. Serial # "52183" on back plate. Nicely restored finish, some loss and cracks in Bronze work, corner damage on beveled glass, running when cataloged. 40" high overall. ESTIMATE $1,500-2,500
