French Gilded Bronze Lyre Clock
A very good late 19th century French Gilded Bronze Lyre clock by "Vincenti, Paris". 8-day time and strike movement with a convex porcelain dial, Arabic numerals with hand-painted floral swags and filigree hands, fitted with a compensating pendulum and swinging exterior bezel decorated with 54 applied "brilliants". Movement impressed "Vincenti, Mediale D'ore, 1855" with serial # "9381". Rouge Marble case with finely chased and Gilded Bronze mounts surmounted by a mask of the Sun God Apollo, on a foliate pedestal and molded Rouge Marble base, with impressed serial # "9381". Only minor wear, hairline free dial, Gilding in excellent condition, a couple of "brilliants" are replacements, some small separations in base casting, running when cataloged, set-up and balancing will be required after moving. 22 1/4" high overall.
