[ translate ]

\Artist: Scuola Italiana del XVI - XVII Secolo
Technique: Oil on canvas\Signature: Not signed\Dimensions: 103_81_5_cm
Ancient painting, oil on canvas, dating back to the late 16th and early 17th centuries, depicting Christ brought to trial after his capture. The scene depicted describes the moments following the arrest of Jesus in the garden of Gethsemane, just outside Jerusalem, where he was then taken to be questioned by the various political and religious authorities of the time: Anna, Caiaphas, the Sanhedrin, Pilate, Herod Antipas. . Suggestive work, the drafting of which highlights passages of remarkable quality and in which the author demonstrates excellent talent. The stylistic and composition features suggest the attribution to an artist working in the last part of the 16th century, within the Venetian school. In fairly good general condition considering the age of the painting, in patina and in some places quite dirty, it would probably benefit from a light cleaning, some scattered restorations and some unveiling and abrasion of the pictorial surface can be seen. There are no conservation problems, the original canvas is not relined and is mounted on its contemporary frame, some old repairs of the same can be identified on the back. A fine crackle is visible compared to the time. Framed in a splendid 17th century frame, gilded and licked, which has some slight defects and shortcomings. Measurements of the painting: 103 x 81 cm. Frame size: 112 x 90 cm. Work accompanied by a certificate of photographic authenticity, as per current legislation. Shipping via insured express courier and packaging performed with the utmost care.
