A Dutch mahogany part ebonised and brass inlaid side table, first half 19th century, twin outswing frieze drawers, 75cm high, 79cm wide, 38cm deep; together with A George III mahogany and tulipwood banded tea table, circa 1800, 74cm high, 91cm wide, 46cm deep (2)
Condition Report:
Dutch side table: With advertisement when sold by Beau Nash Antiques Bath, Restorations including- refinished surface (albeit now with some later scratches) front section of top has been off and repaired- lifting and some damage to rear corners of top. Drawers strengthened, signs of hinges to the back of the top- suggesting it may have been adapted from a foldover? Top will require some remedial cleaning and work- drawer handles replaced
George III table: Marks, knocks, scratches, abrasions, consistent with age and use. Chips and losses, old splits and cracks, some replacement sections of timber, the legs with old splits and cracks and old screw repairs. Some later replacement blocks to the interior of the frame. The interior darker colour overall than the exterior. Overall the frame appears solid and stable.
