Archaic Style Bronze Lidded Vessel
Shang Dynasty Style, possibly 18th / 19th Century or Earlier
The pyramidal cover surmounted by a similarly shaped finial atop a square-sectioned post and raised decoration at the four corners, over a square neck with raised archaic symbols, the sides interrupted by a swing handle terminating with butterflies, above a bombe body with archaic symbols, resting on a slightly tapered conforming base, the surface covered with a mottled milky green patina and earth encrustation.
Over the handle, H. 15 in.
