With two rectangular folding boards and four gates, the boards with graded transverse slats, the frame with contoured foot ends, height 74.5, folded up 168 x 119 cm In the book Room for furniture, Lars and Ursula Sjöberg describe how the knock table was used in the 18th century: "The hall, the home's largest room, had as its main function to be a dining room. When setting the table, the dining tables were placed in the middle of the room and the chairs, which were usually lined up along the walls, were brought to the table. After finishing the meal, the tables were then folded up and placed, like the chairs, either along the walls of the hall or also in a pantry or in the hall. In a few minutes, the room could be transformed into a ballroom.".Show more
