The view of California foothills (possibly near San Luis Obispo) shrouded in mist is signed lower left.
Holmes established himself early as a muralist before moving to California around 1923 to teach and paint there depicting California landscapes and views of the American west for the rest of his life.
Board measures 18 x 20 with a framed size of 22.75 x 24.75 inches.

Condition Report: Very good condition. There are no issues of major scratches, losses, repairs, in-painting or touch-up, noting a tiny chip near the tree and a few very small touches in the sky upper left.
