An Elizabeth II modernist sterling silver cruet set, London 1971 by Leslie Gordon Durbin (1913-2005) Comprising a pair of pepper pots and four salts with spoons. Each of rounded circular form, the salts and spoons with gilt interiors, the peppers with bayonet fitting bases. Each fully marked and part-marked to the bayonet section. (10) Salt diameter – 5 cm / 2 inches Weight – 344 grams / 11.06 ozt Leslie Durbin, CBE, MVO, (1913-2005) was apprenticed to Omar Ramsden between 1929-38. Durbin was honoured in 1982 with a one-man exhibition at Goldsmith's Hall entitled "Fifty Years of Silversmithing."
