Rare wood and ivory Okimono depicting a child riding an ox with a sack on his back, guiding it with an intertwined band in metal (imitating rope) and with a basket of fruit and vegetables at his side. Large ox made of a single block of wood with ivory eyes. For a similar specimen see "Japanese decorative sculptures of the Meiji Period" Barry Davies Oriental Art. In good condition - the right horn has been touched up - the left ear and horn have been restored - the child's right big toe has been touched up - see photos. The lot will be carefully packaged and shipped within 1 or at most 2 business days from the day of payment. The shipping price includes delivery via UPS, TNT, DHL or SDA courier (depending on destination address) with full insurance and professional packaging. Original certificate compiled by Luca Mastromauro, an expert in Japanese art, registered with the Milan Chamber of Commerce (number: 2617) , which will be sent with the lot.
