Property from an Important Private Collection Two calligraphic panels, Persia, 19th century, ink and opaque pigments heightened with gold on paper: the first a panel with 2 lines of large black thuluth above and below a central panel with 2 lines of smaller black naskh, written on silver speckled pink paper, two panels at either extremity with signature of Muhammad bin Abu al-Baqa' al-Harawi and a date of 950 AH, between gold and polychrome illuminated spandrels, laid down on purple cardboard with gold and silver floral illumination; the second with 1 line of large black thuluth above a panel with 2 lines of smaller black naskh , signed 'Abdullah Harawi, with polychrome illuminated panels, laid down on marbled paper covered cardboard, one panel 20.5 x 31cm.; the other 12.8 x 24cm.
