DON DAVEY Signed New Orleans 1976 Lithograph after drawing, signature to lower right reads ‘1976 Don Davey’, verso reads information about the artists, subject a view of Royal street in New Orleans, measures 9 3/4 x 11 1/2 inches, window measures 4 3/8 x 6 1/8 inches, black composite frame, surface wear to frame, professionally framed and double matted in maroon, not examined out of frame, Don started his distinguished career at the American Academy of Art in Chicago. He has served on the faculty of the Academy of Art in San Francisco and was instrumental in the formation of the Society of Illustrators for which he served as president. On invitation of the United States Air Force, he toured the Orient in return for his subsequent painting. This artwork went on a world tour and became part of the permanent collection of the United States Air Force documentary art program. An award winning artist with both gold and silver medals to his credit, Mr. Davey’s technique, at once factual and impressionistic, has won him a following the world over.
