Pair of wonderful antique porcelain Hirado figurines, shaped as dogs. The eyes look especially wonderful, and though the pupils have faded slightly over time, they remain a wonderful example of the work of Japanese masters. The golden age of Hirado porcelain lasted from 1751-1843, during which time the finest porcelain in Japan was produced. In the 19th century, Hirado ware was especially in the Victorian West renowned as an desirable export ware. Dated to late 19th/early 20th century. In excellent condition, the age can be determined by the wear on the paw pads. Everything else is without traces of damage, chips or restoration. 13. 5 cm in height 7 cm in width 18 cm in length from nose to tail Item will be sent tracked and insured.
