US M1860 STAFF & FIELD OFFICERS PRESENTATION SWORD
U.S. model 1860 staff and field officer's presentation sword. Named to 1st Lt. Harold L. Tomeond which is etched onto the blade. Maker's mark "Iver Johnson Sporting Goods C. Boston" on the base of the blade. The hilt is of standard pattern with a folding counterguard and a cast brass hilt bound with braided copper wire. Iron three ring scabbard, with the brass mounts being molded with scrollwork. Sword measures approximately 37 inches long with the scabbard. Very fine condition with the exception of some minor wear to the sword and scabbard due to age. From the collection of Terry R. Morris. This lot has a reserve.
