Though he was active throughout most of the 20th century, watercolors and paintings by Charles Banks Wilson are scarce and desirable. This auction with its four nice original works by Wilson is a first. He is best known for his popular pencil signed lithographs created from the early 1940s into the 1990s. This sweet, idyllic watercolor of a youngster in summer, a common CBW theme, was acquired directly from the artist.
