This original Revolutionary War Period Manuscript Document measures about 8" x 12", 1 page, written on handmade laid period rag paper. Being an accounting of monies spent on raising soldiers to serve in the Continental Army. This accounting is from Michael Farley, Treasurer of the Town of Ipswich, Massachusetts, to the Selectmen of the Town. The total spent is just over 2055 Pounds. Docket on reverse. It was the duty of each Town to provide an allotment of elegible men for military service, as well as providing their necessary clothing, equipment and supplies for use by the Army. Folds, small intersection hole at center near the vertical fold not touching any text. A very scarce original Revolutionary War accounting the Recruiting Continental Army Soldiers.
