Chinese Famille Rose Brush Pot, Republic
A Chinese famille rose porcelain brush pot by Hui Sheng and dating from the Republic period. The brush pot depicts a scholar with an attendant under a tree. It includes an inscription stating Xi Zhi Si E. A decorative border surrounds the top and bottom of the pot. It has a 4-character mark on the bottom.
Dimensions: 4 3/4 inches tall X 3 inches diameter, 12.1 cm tall X 7.6 cm diameter. All measurements are approximate.
