favrile glass, patinated bronze
sixteen shades engraved L.C.T., one shade engraved L.C.T. Favrile
20 ½ in. (52.1 cm) high

Condition Report:
The shades are a very well-matched set and present with luminous gold iridescence when viewed firsthand. The shades with scattered minute air bubbles and particulate inclusions inherent in the making and not visually distracting. The shades with some occasional extremely minor surface wear and minute flecks to the upper apertures which is common and not visible when the shades are installed. The glass surfaces with scattered extremely minor and fine surface scratches consistent with age and gentle handling. The base is in overall very good condition. The bronze surfaces throughout present with scattered minor surface scratches, abrasions and discolorations consistent with age and gentle handling. The base with some light traces of surface soiling and oxidation concentrated to the recessed portions of the design. With a period base switch and switch knob. The underside of the base is applied with green felt for protection. With sixteen period internal sockets and four later replaced sockets. One socket is currently not functioning and will be addressed on behalf of the buyer prior to shipment. Sotheby's does not guarantee electrical components and suggests having all wiring inspected by a licensed electrician. An outstanding example of the form with a gorgeous set of beautifully iridized shades.
