Ford USA - Thunderbird - 1955

Ford unveiled the Thunderbird at the Detroit Auto Show in 1954 in response to the Chevrolet Corvette. The car was an instant success and was more popular than the Corvette. This 1955 Ford Thunderbird in Torch Red was fully restored from 2015 to 2016 for more than $ 38,000 by Hotrods by Mike in Huachuca, Arizona. All the paperwork of the restoration is available. The car has been repainted in the original colour Torch Red and all the chrome is new. New Coker Classic whitewall tyres have been fitted as well as new wheel covers. The paint is still in excellent condition as you would expect after a restoration. The original white hardtop in perfect condition is also still available. A new white soft-top has been installed. The original red and white interior was fully redone. The electrically adjustable seats have been renewed. New carpet, chrome strips on the dashboard and door panels have been fitted and a vintage air conditioning has been re-installed. A modernised Thunderbird cassette player is also fitted. Everything about this car has been renewed to original specifications. Mechanically everything renewed. The original 292 Y-code engine & Ford-O-Matic gearbox has been overhauled by Jasper Engines & Transmissions in Jasper, Indiana. It currently has an aftermarket air filter on the carburettor, the original one is included. The rear axle has also been renewed as well as the brakes and brake lines. In short, this car is one of the most beautiful 1955 Thunderbirds for sale after a thorough restoration. The car is sold with Belgian papers but we can also provide Dutch or German papers.
