U.S. Model 1852 Naval Officer's Presentation Sword. 28-inch slightly curved, etched blade with the classic Horstmann etching with stars, arms panoplies, scrollwork, anchor, shield and logo on the obverse with oak leaves, vines, riband with USN, fouled anchor and eagle surmounting cannon on the reverse. Iron Proof etched on the back of the blade. Fish-skin grips with twisted brass wire wrapping. Leather scabbard with brass mounts and drag. Blade has some some wear, but little pitting. The leather on the scabbard has some wear and the top brass mount is loose. On the top brass mount of the scabbard is the engraved presentation: "Presented to Asst. Paymaster N. H.
