Japanese Two-Fold Screen Byobu on Paper 19th C. FR3SH

Description: A Japanese two-fold screen (Byobu) painted in inks and colors on paper (possibly mulberry bark paper) with the figure of Jorojin (one of the Shichifukujin or Seven Gods of Good Fortune) holding a gnarled staff to which a scroll is attached and accompanied by his traditional deer, the other leaf depicting a female deity holding a flower basket before her, each leaf bearing an illegible seal. All within a brocaded silk border and mounted within a black lacquered support.
Measurements: H: 54" x W: 51 " x D: 1"
Condition: Water damage along the mid lower edge of the screen.
